Recruitment & Application
The School of Dental Medicine is focused and committed to creating an inclusive, diverse, and strong workforce. The SDM HR office collaborates with each department, the hiring supervisor, and the search committee to develop and/or update position job descriptions that describes each department; an overview of the position and key responsibilities; and the SDM core values and competencies.
Once a position job description is posted to the universities career portal, CU Careers, we start accepting applications immediately. Typically, our application submissions require the following documents:
- CU Careers web application submission
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume
- Cover letter
- List of three (3) to five (5) professional references
- Misc. requested materials that are position specific
All applicants are required to submit an application via the University of Colorado applicant portal - CU Careers. Review and Evaluation
Our search committees are charged with identifying applicants who will bring commitment, engagement, and positively impact how we execute the School of Dental Medicine, the Anschutz Medical Campus, the University of Colorado's mission, vision, and values.
Each search committee completes required and optional training and is committed to actively engaging in each recruitment. This step in the phase includes structured application material reviews and interviews.
We understand the recruitment process can be an overwhelming and sometimes lengthy process. Applicants who become candidates will work closely with the SDM HR office professionals throughout the interview process to help with making the recruitment a smooth and positive experience.

Finalist and Offers
The SDM HR office strives to proactively communicate with applicants and candidates throughout the recruitment process. That includes communicating with applicants about the status of their application.
Once a candidate becomes a finalist, the SDM HR office will complete background and reference checks for those candidates who are identified as finalists.
Any official offers that are made to candidates go through a collaborative process with the SDM Dean's office, the SDM HR office, and the universities central HR talent acquisition and compensation teams.
Accepted Job & Next Steps
New colleagues that will be joining the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine will go through a university and SDM HR onboarding process. The SDM HR office will serve as the first point of contact throughout the onboarding process and coordinate with the various SDM and university offices on executing onboarding activities.
