*Accountable Student Rate is the resident rate + the Accountable Support Fee. Accountable rates will be assessed on student accounts 3-5 business days after enrollment.
**Dental DDS Non-Resident Rate This will only be charged if the non-resident student voluntarily chooses to withdraw from dental school after completing the first year for any reason other than a medical disability. The student will be obligated to pay the School of Dental Medicine the difference between the non-resident tuition that would have been assessed and the tuition and accountable support fee.

Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes
The CU School of Dental Medicine accepts Colorado residents and non-residents. Students are initially classified as accountable (non-resident) or sponsored (resident) for tuition purposes during the admissions process. The requirements for establishing residency are defined by Colorado law. For more information regarding residency classification, including specific qualifications for veterans, please visit the Registrar's office.
WICHE
The CU School of Dental Medicine is a member of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) program which helps students in Western states enroll in selected out-of-state professional programs. Residents of Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii,
Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming are considered for acceptance under this program. For additional information and to apply for certification (deadline is October 15th of the year preceding admission), please visit the WICHE website. If a student does not receive WICHE funding, the student will be classified as an accountable student (non-resident).

Fee descriptions
Laptop Computer
Students will receive specific instructions for the type of computer to purchase. The above-listed estimated cost for the laptop computer does not include repair expenses.
Projected Tuition
Upon notification of acceptance into the program, applicants are required to submit a nonrefundable $4,000 enrollment fee as directed in the acceptance letter. The fee will be applied to the first semester tuition upon enrollment at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Financial aid does not cover the application fee or the non-refundable $4,000 deposit.
Living Expenses
Living expenses are calculated on the basis of a single student living in housing near the school. This includes rent (with roommate), utility, and food. Since the ISP program is an accelerated program, it is recommended that students live close to the School of Dental Medicine.
Health Insurance
ISP students are required to acquire and maintain a health insurance policy for the duration of their attendance at the School of Dental Medicine. At this time the school has not identified a medical insurance carrier; please purchase the health insurance on your own.
All students are to adhere to immunization requirements.
Financial Aid
Advanced Standing International Student Program students may apply for financial aid which is awarded based on financial need to both U.S. citizens and qualified non-citizens (examples include, but are not limited to, refugees and permanent residents.) Advanced Standing International Student Program applicants are considered for admission regardless of their financial circumstances, however, acceptance into the program does not guarantee eligibility for financial aid. The Graduate Orthodontics Program is a full-time program requiring 30 months in active residency; therefore, outside employment is strongly discouraged. Tuition and fees are approximate and subject to change each year.

Admission Fees

Tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year is $31,827 total. An additional $700 instrument fee is charged during the fall semester. All tuition and fee amounts are subject to change.
