General Practice Residency Clinic


The CU General Practice Residency Clinic provides advanced, comprehensive treatment with expertise in delivering care for all patients, including those with medical, mental or physical complexities. As part of the CU School of Dental Medicine, patients are treated by recently graduated dentists who are continuing their clinical training and supervised by expert faculty and fees are typically 25-50% less than a private practice.

At your first visit, please expect one of the following:

  • In most cases, patients require a more comprehensive examination including x-rays with an estimated cost of $144 (subject to change)

Please bring the following to your first visit:

  • Completed patient forms (will save you time at your first visit)
  • ‚ÄčInsurance/Health First Colorado (formerly Medicaid) Card 
  • Current x-rays (within the past two years)
  • A written referral from your dentist for limited care only

Before your appointment, you will need to complete the virtual check-in process.

  • Please call us at (303) 724-7877 from your car, or outside the building (if you are using different transportation) when you arrive for your appointment.
  • We will ask you screening questions and let you know when you should enter the building's west entrance.
  • A CU Dental team member will also contact you the day before your appointment to ask screening questions and confirm your appointment.

    Your health and safety are important to us. The CU School of Dental Medicine has several safety protocols and requirements in place.

    If your answer is “yes” to any of the following, please contact your clinic to reschedule:
  • Have you had ANY OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS (not related to hay fever or seasonal allergies)?:
    • Fever >99.9ºF
    • Signs/symptoms of lower respiratory illness
    • Cough/shortness of breath/difficulty breathing 
    • Flu-like symptoms
    • Chills/repeated chills with shaking
    • Muscle pain/headache/sore throat
    • Runny nose/fatigue
    • New loss of taste or smell

  • Have you had contact with known or suspected COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days or anyone who is symptomatic?
  • Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

    Again, if your answer is yes to these questions, we will need to reschedule for another date.

The General Practice Residency Clinic accepts cash, check (with ID), debit cards, credit cards, Health First Colorado (formerly Medicaid), and is a Delta Dental in-network provider. The school will accept other forms of dental insurance as an out-of-network provider. We do not accept Medicare or medical insurance at this time.

We are always available to help you with insurance claims and paperwork, and we are happy to work with your insurance provider to make sure you understand your insurance benefits.
