Adolescent Dental Clinic

University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine

At the University of Colorado Adolescent Dental Clinic, we provide comprehensive dental care for children and teens between the ages of 12 and 18 throughout the Denver metropolitan area. Located on the Anschutz Medical Campus, our dental clinic is part of the CU School of Dental Medicine in Aurora, Colorado. As a university clinic, our adolescent dental services can cost up to 50% less than a typical private dental office.

Teens and older children will receive high-quality, compassionate care from skilled students training to be family dentists at the CU Adolescent Dental Clinic. With supervision from our expert faculty, our adolescent patients receive the best possible dental care. Between regular dental checkups and wisdom teeth removal, our services cover all the dental needs of your teenager or older child.

Our Dental Care Services for Teens

Teens and older children in our dental program can expect to receive:

  • Regular preventive care, including checkups, cleanings, and fluoride treatments.

  • Dental treatments, including fillings, root canals, gum disease treatment, wisdom teeth extractions, and more.

Patients will also learn about cavity prevention, healthy eating habits, and how they benefit teeth and gums. They can expect to learn about good oral hygiene habits too.

If you have a child or older teen needing dental care, contact the CU Adolescent Dental Clinic. Our extensive services allow teens and children in the Denver Metro area to maintain clean, healthy smiles into adulthood. Call 303-724-TEEN (8336) today for more information or to schedule an appointment.

What to Bring

Before arriving at our Adolescent Dental Clinic, ensure you have everything you need to ensure the appointment is as quick and straightforward as possible. Please bring the following to your first visit:

  • Completed patient forms.

  • Current x-rays from within the past two years from your dental provider should be emailed to CUDT@ucdenver.edu (this email is not for referrals).

  • Insurance/CHP+/Health First Colorado (formerly Medicaid) card, and;

  • A list of your current medications and dosage information.

What to Expect

Your appointment will include a comprehensive evaluation for professional teeth cleaning. When we examine your mouth, we will also let you know if we recommend braces. Dental x-rays will also be taken during your first appointment to determine the status of your oral health and whether or not wisdom teeth need to be removed.

After determining a treatment plan, you can schedule the necessary follow-up appointments. Make sure to schedule twice-a-year preventative checkups so your teen or child can effectively maintain their beautiful smile.

We accept cash, checks (with ID), debit cards, credit cards, CHP+, and Health First Colorado (formerly Medicaid). You can also conveniently make bill payments online.

The CU Adolescent Dental Clinic is a Delta Dental in-network provider. Still, we will accept other forms of dental insurance as an out-of-network provider. We are not accepting BEAM insurance at this time.

We are always available to help you with your insurance claims and paperwork, and we are happy to work with your insurance provider to ensure you understand your insurance benefits.
